A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
I LOVE to travel. The daughter of naval parents, I moved a lot, going to thirteen different schools in twelve years. It only made me want to see more. I feel so fortunate to have explored ancient Rome, German castles, France’s battlefields, London’s history, Alaskan Mountains, the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona, the Florida Everglades and the lights of Broadway. These are just a few of the places I have visited.
I am married to children’s book writer, author, Michael Shoulders. We co-authored “D is for Drum, A Native American Alphabet,” “G is for Gladiator, An Ancient Rome Alphabet,” “T is for Titanic, A Titanic Alphabet, ” and “M is for Money, an Economics.” We have three children, Jason - an engineer, Ryan - a health care IT specialist, and Meghann - a High School Theater teacher. I also have four grandchildren (a boy and three girls). I recently retired from 31 years teaching middle school English and Gifted Ed but still work at writing lesson plans and helping those who want to create authentic learning experiences.
My favorites things to do when I am not working is to read, watch movies, and travel! I am also an avid Pokémon Go and Animal Crossing player.
